SKF Goa River Marathon

The SKF Goa River Marathon, an AIMS-certified run, has been held annually in Panjim, Goa since 2012.

Initially organized by 2 students of BITS Pilani (Sahil Kashyap and Anjali Sharma) with the help of the El Shaddai Charitable trust, the first edition of the Goa River Marathon was held near the campus of BITS Pilani. Offering a plethora of races ranging from Full Marathon to 5k fun run-walk, now the various races usually start and finish at Campal Sports Ground, in the village of Chicalim.

While the route is fully road surfaced, it is tree-shaded and scenic with picturesque views of the river Zuari. The SKM Goa River Marathon has been adjudged one of the “10 Great Marathons in the world” by the National Geographic Traveller.

Important Points

No cancellation is possible for registrations. The refunds, if requested, would be as follows:
- 75% refund between 30-60 days before the event.
- 25% refund between 20-30 days before the event .
- No refunds to be given 20 days before the event.
- GST will not be refunded
If the organizers cancel the race, in which case a refund of 90% will be given to all registered participants OR the option to switch their participation to next year.
Hydration would be available at aid stations at every 1-1.5km.
Medical and washroom facilities would also be available on the route/course as well as at the start point/ finish line of the race.
Time limits are applicable for all the races after which the course would be open for regular vehicular traffic. Runners/ walkers are expected to finish in the following times:
- - Full marathon: 6 hrs
  - 32K : 5 hrs
  - Half marathon: 3 hrs 30 min (women get 15 min extra)
  - 10K : 1 hrs 30 min
  - 5k run : 1 hrs

An authorized person can collect runners’ bibs on his/her behalf as long as they have.
- Authorization letter signed by runners
- Copy of runners’ registration confirmation email
- Copy of ID proof

Runners need the following mandatory documents and minimum criteria for registration approval.

- Age criterion

Free transport is available to the race venue (& back) for runners staying in Vasco City. Buses ply from 3.00 am on race day at regular intervals to the nearest point of starting point from Vasco Da Gama railway station.
