The Pune International Marathon, an AIMS-certified race, is an annual race held in Pune, India since its inaugural run in 1983. It is the oldest marathon event in India attracting not only local and national participants but also international runners.

PIM has been awarded the status of ‘National Marathon Championship’ by The Athletics Federation of India and happens under the aegis of the Indian Olympic Association.

The PIM is also a platform to spread social messages and raise funds for charitable causes. One of their main agendas, is “Sportsman’s Hermitage” which aims to create a support system for the retired old sportsmen of national/ international repute who are unable to support/sustain themselves. These retired sportsmen will be motivated to engage and coach the young generation at the Hermitage coaching center.

Important Points

• • All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Entry fees will also not be transferred from year to year.
  • All races except wheelchair races are timed races.
  • The cut-off timings are as follows (tentative):
    • Marathon: 6hrs 30min
    • Half Marathon: 4hrs
    • 10K: 2hrs
    • 5K: 1hr 15min
  • Course will remain secured till 9:30am before being open to traffic. Aid stations will be available till 10:00 am.
  • Water, energy drinks, and other refreshments would be available on the route/course. Water and refreshments available to all runners post-race finish.
  • Medical and washroom facilities would also be available on the route/course as well at the start point/finish line of the race.
  • Marathon and Half Marathon winners will get the cheque and trophy on race day itself. Cash awards will be given the next day. Other Race winners (top 3 finishers) in each race will be announced within 1 week of the event.
