NN Marathon Rotterdam – 2025 Registration & 2024 Results

The Rotterdam Marathon, currently known as the NN Rotterdam Marathon, is an annual event held in Rotterdam, Netherlands since 1981. It is usually held on the second or third Sunday of April every year. Ranked as one of the top 10 marathons in the world by Runner’s World magazine, it attracts top athletes to the event. The NN Rotterdam marathon is the most popular marathon in the Netherlands, followed by the Amsterdam Marathon and Eindhoven Marathon.

The course of the NN Marathon Rotterdam is known as one of the fastest in the world

The 2020 edition of the race was postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. All entries of 2020 were automatically transferred to 2021 with all registrants given the option of transferring their entry to another runner.

For the Marathon relay, if the team registers via KWF (Run against cancer entry) and raises € 750 in sponsor money, the entry ticket is free for each member.

Marathon: Monetary prizes are awarded to the top 3 men & women in each age category

Other distances: Only topmost/ first prize is given for male & female runners for the City run & 1/4th Marathon. There are no age categories

Points to Note for Prize Purse

• Awards are equal for Male and Female participants
• The gross time is the official time.
• Every participant who reaches the finish in time will receive a medal.

Important Points

1. 1. Student discount: Students get a discount when participating in the NN Marathon Rotterdam.
      • You should be enrolled in full-time study at a Dutch university or a Dutch Higher Education institution, at least one year prior to the event.
      • You are between 16 and 30 years old on the day of the event.
      • When picking up your bib number, we ask you to show your student ID card.
   2. Cancellation: If you are unable to participate in the ‘Marathon’ and you’ve opted for a cancellation insurance, you could claim the paid fee and any paid extras till March. If you are unable to participate in the 1/4 Marathon, 4.2 km, 2.5 km or 1 km the registration fee paid will not be refunded.
   3. Transfer: We offer all individually registered participants the opportunity to transfer their bib number (including any additional products purchased) to someone else. You can transfer your bib number to someone else by logging into your account and following the steps. If you transfer your bib number after March, your name will not be visible on the bib number, because it has already been printed. Your name will be correct in the end results.
   4. Change in distance: Change the race distance can be done if the desired distance is not yet sold out. If changing to a higher distance, the difference in price needs to be paid. If changing to a lower distance, no refund is possible.
   5. Cut off date: To order products (medal engraving, dressing room, etc.), to have your name on bib number or to select the wave start, participant must register before March
   6. Changing facility & Baggage drop off: There will be no changing facilities and bag delivery for Saturday races. On Race day, changing facilities and bag delivery are only available for participants in the NN Marathon Rotterdam and the AA Drink 1/4 Marathon Rotterdam who have checked this on the registration form.
   7. Corrals/Wave start: Runners would be released in waves based on the expected time of finish submitted during registration.
   8. Aid stations: During the NN Marathon Rotterdam there will be drinks stations with sports drinks (AA Drink), water and sponge stand. No fruit is provided at the care stands on the course. The finish line will have AA Drink Smart recovery, water and fruit.
   9. Exchange zones TBI Business Runs:
      • First runner : Starting at 10am @ Schiedamsedijk
      • Second runner : Exchange point at 10K (Pascalweg)
      • Third runner : Exchange point at 21K (Dorpsweg)
      • Fourth runner : Exchange point at 30K ((Mariniersweg), finish @Coolsingel
   10. Pacers are available
   11. Time limits are applicable for the various races
       • Marathon: 5 hours and 30 minutes
       • 1/4 Marathon: 1 hour and 20 minutes
       • City Run: 45 minutes
       • 15km Walk: 5 hours
       • 10km Walk: 3.5 hours
       • 5km Walk: 2 hours
