The Tawang Marathon, first held in 2023, is an annual event held in the city of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Organized under the aegis of Arunachal Pradesh Government & Indian Army, and managed by Cyruns, the Tawang Marathon showcases the breathtaking beauty of the state
The Tawang Marathon is known for its challenging yet scenic routes where participants literally end up running ‘above the clouds’ (at a height of 10000 feet above the mean sea level). The Tawang Marathon attracts runners from across the world, promoting fitness and tourism in the region. The event has gained recognition for its unique blend of cultural richness and athletic excellence, making it a must-run event for marathon enthusiasts.
Other than the Marathon, the event also offers a Half Marathon, a 10K race and a 5K race

# For Tawang Marathon 2024, the below Time Eligibility criterion was applicable
1. Full Marathon: Participant preferably have completed EITHER one Marathon under 6hr within the last 1 year before the day you submit your 2024 registration OR two Half Marathons under 3hr in the past two years (at least one within the last year).
2. Half Marathon: Participant preferably have completed EITHER one-Half Marathon under 3 hours within the last 1 year before the day you submit your 2024 registration OR two 10km runs under 1 hour 30 minutes in the past two years (at least one within the last one year)
3. 10K: Participant preferably have completed EITHER two 10km runs under 1 hour 30 minutes in past two years (at least one within last year before the day you submit your 2024 registration) OR one-Half Marathon under 3hr between within last year.

Points to note about the Prize money:
- The race results announced on the race day will be considered ‘provisional’. Final results will be disclosed post-verification, and individuals meeting the specified criteria will qualify for the prize money.
- Runners seeking eligibility for prizes must not commence the race later than 15 minutes after the official flag-off time and must cross the starting mat within the first 15 minutes from the flag-off.
- To be designated as a Cash Prize Winner, participants must complete the race within the respective cut-off time indicated for each category
- The allocation of finish positions for age categories, qualifying for prize money, will be determined solely based on net finish times.

Important Points
1. Aid stations and Medical help will be placed throughout the race. Water and electrolytes would be available at start/end points and along the race course.
2. Arrival in Tawang and Acclimatization – Participants need acknowledge and agree that they need to arrive in Tawang as per the guidelines recommended by Tawang Marathon. Acclimatization is imperative and important for all participants.
3. Registration: The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable for all races of Tawang Marathon. No refunds will be issued except for serving Indian Defense Personnel.
4. Change of race category is permitted, only till a pre-specified date, by providing written intimation to the organizers. A processing fee will be charged.
5. Transfer of registration to the next year is permitted, only till a pre-specified date, by providing written intimation to the organizers. No transfer requests will be entertained after that
6. Category Cut-Off Time: Category cut off times are applicable from the Race Flag off time as follows: Marathon (7 hours), Half Marathon (3.30 hours), 10 KM (2.00 hours) and 5 KM (1.00 hour)
